Armenian Cultural Association of Barcelona was founded in 2004, in 2006 the ACAB, abbreviated name of the association, is officially registered in the register of public organizations of Catalonia. Throughout its existence the association is actively involved in education and cultural development of children and young people of Armenian descent. In 2006, the Association organized a Saturday School of the Armenian language, which gives public an opportunity to regularly study the Armenian language, and with it to study the culture and traditions of its people. In 2010, the Association has created Spanish language courses for the Armenians who came to Spain recently and need help in adapting to completely new conditions. In addition, the Armenian Association of Barcelona organizes classes of playing the Armenian national instruments and holds regular sports trainings in sports such as chess, football, volleyball and badminton. Teaching Armenian national dance is an integral part of the cultural education of members of ACAB. Since 2009, members of the association are actively participating in the special and unique event. In 2014, members of ACAB have been given an honor to take part in the organization of the Euro Armenian Games in Barcelona.
