Honoring the Armenian Masters

Members of the newly formed Armenian Music Ensemble at UCLA will perform in a chamber music concert on Wednesday, April 16.

The performance is entitled "Honoring the Armenian Masters." It will be hosted by the Hammer Museum in Westwood, Calif. and co-presented by the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.

Most of UCLA's violin professor Movses Pogossian students will be performing.

Soprano Vanessa Vasquez and the VEM String Quartet present a chamber music program of masterworks of Armenian classical music by Spendiaryan, Mirzoyan, and Komitas in commemoration of the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Public programs are free and made possible by a major gift from the Dream Fund at UCLA.

In 2011, Kirk Kerkorian donated $200 million from the Lincy Foundation to the Dream Fund.

Tickets for assigned seating in the Billy Wilder Theater are required and available at the box office one hour before each program.

Early arrival is recommended. Tickets are available one per person on a first come, first served basis.
