The memorial was installed on initiative of Armenian Community in Montevideo on April 24 1975 and is situated in the yard of the city’s Armenian Church. The monument by the architect Khachatur Vardanian and the sculptor Narek Unanian is the statue of young woman with her hands to heaven. The writing on the plinth says: “April 24 1915-1975. Is dedicated to 1 000 000 victims of Genocide by Turkish government in 1915”.
