Georgi Karakhanyan wins WSOF debut

Georgi "Insane" Karakhanyan defeated Waylon Lowe at the World Series of Fighting 5 Saturday night via first round submission.

The 145 pound contender made his WSOF debut in style when he submitted Lowe with a guillotine choke at 3:37 of the first round.

Karakhanyan (22-3-1) has fought on such promotions as Tachi Palace Fights (where he won a title), Bellator, BAMMA, DREAM and Legacy FC

The Riverside, Calif. resident opened the NBC Sports Network-televised main card, held at the Revel Atlantic City in New Jersey.

Karakhanyan, a featherweight who trains out of Millenia MMA, extended his winning streak to eight.

Lowe dropped to 14-5.
