MOCA names Maria Seferian as museum's interim director

The board of the Los Angeles' Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) has named arts lawyer Maria Seferian as the institution’s interim director.

Seferian is a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson. Her practice encompasses a wide variety of corporate transactions and other business matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, arts and entertainment transactions and intellectual property.

Seferian graduated from Harvard Law School, where she was the executive articles editor of the Harvard Civil Rights and Liberties Law Review. She joined the firm after completing a clerkship for the Honorable James L. Oakes in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.

Seferian is co-president and a member of the Board of Directors of the California Lawyers for the Arts, as well as a member of the Los Angeles Copyright Society and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. She was named a Rising Star by the Southern California Super Lawyers magazine in 2011.
