Khachaturian’s Anniversary

The year 2013 has been proclaimed as the “Year of Aram Khachaturian in Los Angeles.” Cultural events dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the great composer will take place in various venues. The program will officially be launched in March with a gala-concert. The Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras of Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Dilijan Chamber Quartet, will participate in the event. Aram Khachaturian’s “Concert for Violin” will be performed in the renowned Hollywood Bowl. A documentary dedicated to Aram Khachaturian’s life and career will be screened for the general audiences and the mass media. The classics of the 20th century music, Aram Khachaturian, is perhaps the most renowned Armenian composer. His music largely influenced his generation of Soviet Armenian composers.
