Surb Khaj Church, Akhalkalaki, Georgia
The Surb Khach church was built in 1856. The main part of the funded money was granted by Yervand Chomarian (a native of Akhalkalaki). On August 16 in 2010 the opening of the renovated church was held accompanied by a liturgy ceremony, the sanctification of grape and blessing of the sacrification. The special guests of the opening were the bishop of Georgian eparchy Vazgen Mirzakhanian, the vicar of Samtskhe-Djavakhq hieromonk Ter Babken Salbiyan and the priest of Surb Khach church Ter Tatev Marukian.
