The church building was bought by Armenian community from Municipality of Evanston in 1944 and was consecrated in 1945. During the seventy years of acting several buildings were added to the church including the cultural center “Nishan” and the Sunday school for Armenian children. The St James Church also guests the visitors of “Taste of Armenia” festival which organizes various fairs, dancing shows and other cultural events.
