The church building that was a former Baptist temple was bought by Armenian community in 1965. The temple was renamed to St Harutyun and was consecrated by the bishop Komitas Ter-Stepanian on February 27 1966. Ten years later the church was full renovated and the main change was made on the roof which was replaced with traditional Armenian pyramid dome.
