The monument was installed on Armenian Square with the support of Armenian-French community in Provence in 1983. The Monument is the kneeling man with open arms and is situated in front of a high wall. The author of the project is Armenian sculptor Toros. The writing on the plinth of the monument says: “In memory of two million Armenians killed by Turks during the first genocide of XX century in time period of 1894 – 1922”.
