Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of the uber popular social media website reddit, discussed his new book "Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made, Not Managed" at the University of Southern California campus on January 22.
Ohanian was joined onstage by USC Viterbi alumni entrepreneurs Ross Boucher and Tom Robinson for a question and answer session. The talk was followed by a book signing and student networking.
Over the years, Ohanian has invested and advised over 60 tech startups, as well as spoken at TED, volunteered in Armenia as a Kiva Fellow and was named on Forbes 30 Under 30 list two years in a row (and then turned 30).
Ohanian also centers his focuses on social enterprise Breadpig, which publishes authors such as xkcd and SMBC — profits donated to worthy causes. Ohanian also helped launch hipmunk and ran marketing/pr/community before becoming an advisor and joining the fight against SOPA & PIPA.
The Viterbi Student Institute for Innovation, in collaboration with USC students and the Marshall Business Network organized the speaking engagement.
