Annually on the night of May 18, the museums of Armenia and many countries of the world are open to visitors all night long. This “Museum Night” takes place on International Museum Day with the aim of raising awareness regarding the importance of museums in the development of society. This year, over 80 museums of Armenia and Artsakh opened their doors for this festival. The Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin participated in Museum Night for the first time with an exhibition dedicated to the pontifical symbols and the church. The Cafesjian Center for the Arts featured two new exhibitions, educational programs, screening of movies and other cultural events. The History Museum, National Art Gallery, Martiros Saryan Museum and Hovhannes Tumanyan House-Museum all attracted a great number of visitors.
