Wine Pairs

A little keenness of observation, a bit of fantasy, and you will discover so much in common between the characters of people and wine varieties that willy-nilly you will think: so maybe a soul is wine that fills the vessels of our bodies. The play of “person/wine” associations carries away popular Armenian actors and singers, as well.

Getashen. Special Cahors wine.
Made from kakhet grape variety, grown under 50 hectares of land by the ruins of ancient Armenian capital Dvin. The wine is produced from heated, without stalks grapes (husks of grapes) due to which it obtains thoroughly boiled tones with fruit nuances. With extended ageing in the oak barrels, the wine obtains brick color, while with additional ageing in bottles it becomes nobler and “more delicate”.

Arevshat. Malaga
Produced since 1907. One of the rarest and most famous Armenian wines, gold prizewinner of dozens of international wine-testing fairs. The wine is made from several grape varieties, including voskehat, mskhali, kakhet and white muscatel. It has refined caramel tones and aroma of warmed oak. Not produced over 15 years.
