The Oakland Raiders have signed Armenian-American quarterback Trent Edwards to a reserve/future contract.
The 30-year-old Edwards, a Bay Area native who went to college at Stanford, has started 33 games over six seasons for the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles.
He was a third-round pick -- No. 92 overall -- of the Buffalo in 2007.
Edwards has passed for 6,033 yards with 26 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in 38 NFL games -- 33 of which were starts. He completed passes at a rated of 60.6 percent (563-of-929).
