500th anniversary coin wins first prize at Italian international festival

The Central Bank of Armenia has announced that an Armenian coin dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Armenian printing won first prize at Italy's 10th annual international fair.

Vicenza Numismatica's international jury judged the coin on the merits of modern and classical design.

The two faces of the coin combine to depict the printing of the first Armenian book in Venice in 1512 along with the international cultural role of Armenia and its capital Yerevan.
