Gillan's love for Armenia goes back to 1988, when he and Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath dedicated work to a nation still shocked after the earthquake that struck Armenia.
In 2011, Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi recorded two songs - “Out Of My Mind” and “Holy Water” - with the intent to support the rebuilding of a music school in Gyumri.
Gillan was in Armenia for the opening of a music school.
