Yerevan to host 2014 Armenia StartUp Cup

Yerevan will be hosting the second annual Armenia StartUp Cup in January 2014.

StartUp Cup is a global network of locally driven business model competitions open to any type of business idea. Through this competitive process entrepreneurs learn how to design a viable business model, develop customers, test their assumptions, and grow their business revenue through a comprehensive judging, coaching, and mentoring process.

Armenia saw a record number of business model applications for the 2013 Armenia StartUp Cup and after a stellar Extreme Build-A-Business Weekend held at Ayb School, the list of business startups has been narrowed to the Top 25. Those entrepreneurs now move to the next round of the business model competition.

Each Armenia StartUp Cup competition takes place over a five-month period and involves a series of events that provide priceless mentoring, coaching and judging from local business leaders and experts to the entrepreneurs.

The Top 25 startups move to the next round where they will present a seven-minute pitch to judges. The judges will then select 12 Semi-Finalists who move into the coaching phase. Those 12 startups will work with coaches who will offer resources and expertise to help the entrepreneurs polish their business models and pitch techniques before competing in the next round where the Final Seven are selected.  The winner will be named on Nov. 18 during Global Entrepreneurship Week Armenia.
