Armenian Music Awards

The 9th Annual Armenian Music Awards show took place on November 23, 2007 at the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal Citywalk, California, USA. It was broadcast in native Armenia as well as in the countries that are home to all major Armenian Diasporas worldwide…USA, Russia, France, Iran, Georgia, Syria – to name a few.

Musical categories recognized in the awards included Retro, Traditional, R&B and Rap, Contemporary, Rock, Pop, and Patriotic, etc. Nominations for Best Music Video and Best Concert Video categories were also considered.

The “Best of Armenian show-business” parties were determined through an on-line vote. For the sixth time Andre was recognized the best male singer of the Year, Sirusho – the best female singer of the Year. A children’s musical ensemble “Arevik” also received an award (nomination “Best Children’s Album”). Two creative projects of Sharm Holding Company as well received prize at Armenian Music Awards. Project “Yerevan-Moscow. Transit” was recognized the best concert version project in DVD format. A musical project named “Hatuk Nshanakutsyan Yerker” (Songs of the Special Importance) dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the national Armenian Army was presented with a special prize for “The Best Patriotic Project”.
