Jazz Stars’ Alley

Yerevan has acquired its own Jazz Star’s Alley. The city mayor and minister of culture opened two stars on the Walk of Stars of Armenian Jazz, one for Artemi Ayvazyan, the other for Konstantin Orbelian. Ayvazyan was a jazz composer and conductor, who founded the State Pop Orchestra of Armenia in 1938 and headed it until 1956. Orbelian was a composer, conductor and the artistic director of the State Estrada Orchestra of Armenia. The opening ceremony was attended by the officials and public.
